Reserves / E-Reserves for Lamar University and LIT Instructors

Reserves enables instructors to submit articles and other class materials (books, videos, sample tests, etc.) to be placed on Reserve in the Library so that students in your class can access the information at their convenience.

What is E-Reserve?

E-Reserve makes these articles and other class materials available electronically through the web from any computer with a web browser. After your E-Reserve has been processed, you will be provided with a username and password that you will distribute to your class in order to connect to these resources.

General Instructions To Place an Item on Reserve

  • Click on the Submission Form link (at the top right of this page).
  • Complete a submission form for each Reserve item and submit the form with your request.
  • Items should be identified for Reserve cataloging in the same manner as on your syllabus. Students should know specifically what to ask or search for.
  • Please allow sufficient time for processing.
  • Please call the Reserves/Periodicals Department at 880-8980 or send email to Reserveroom@library.lamar.edu if you need assistance.

E-Reserve Instructions

  • All photocopies should be printed single-sided on 8.5" x 11" paper.
  • Please provide the full bibliographic citation for each E-Reserve document on the first page of the article.
  • Please do not staple documents together; we have to remove staples before scanning. Use paper clips instead.
  • Each photocopy should be no longer than 25 pages to ensure smooth feeding through the scanner. If your photocopy exceeds this page length, please divide the article into parts.
  • Try to eliminate black margins and gutters on photocopies as these marks can darken once the document is scanned, and toner is wasted when the document is printed.
  • Articles currently accessible on the Internet or via the Library’s electronic databases may not be placed on E-Reserve.
  • In consideration of copyright guidelines, we cannot place more than 10% of a total work on E-Reserve. Please refer to the Guidelines for Copyright Issues.
  • Please note that items not in use during a particular semester will be removed from E-Reserve.
  • Please call the Reserves/Periodicals Department at 880-8980 or send email to Reserveroom@library.lamar.edu if you need assistance.
